New EV Charging Station Opens in Downtown Concord

It's located on the ground floor of the Todos Santos Parking Garage at Galindo and Salvio streets, and can accommodate two cars at once.

From the City of Concord:

The City of Concord announces the installation of a new charging station for electronic vehicles. The EV station is located in downtown Concord on the ground floor of the Todos Santos Parking Garage at Galindo and Salvio streets.

The device can accommodate two cars at the same time. The fee to use the EV charger is $1.75 per hour, which captures the City’s cost to offer the service. The service is provided by ChargePoint.

“We are delighted to offer this convenience for visitors to downtown Concord who drive electric cars,” said Economic Development Manager John Montagh. “We hope drivers who are visiting one of our downtown restaurants or businesses will take advantage of this new amenity. We were able to acquire the charger at no charge from 511 Contra Costa.”

“The EV charger is just one more example of how we are working to reduce the City’s carbon footprint,” said Mayor Tim Grayson. “The City will soon be adding 10 new electric vehicles to its fleet, all paid for through grant funding. At the same time, we are working on a city-wide bike and pedestrian plan to get more people out of their cars and further reduce gas emissions.”
